Enrolment & Course Selection
|
The best course for a student is one that meets a combination of the needs, interests and abilities of the student. Students will have the strongest opportunity to achieve Secondary Graduation if their course is based on a Study Module and realistic goals.

Minimum Entrance Requirements (MER's)
MER's are necessary in order to realistically determine a student's ability to cope with a particular course. For example, a student who has not achieved at least Level 5 in most Learning Areas is likely to find TER subjects/courses too rigorous.
MER's are not the only consideration when selecting a course. Assignment loads, Commitment to home study and an individual's learning style are also important considerations.

Read our Handbook
The Mandurah Senior College Handbook is distributed to Transition Student's (current Year 10 students going into Year 11 next year) from our feeder schools. It provides information about the subjects and Study Modules. All other prospective students (Year 11 & 12 late entry, repeating, mature-age) can request a copy of the Mandurah Senior College Handbook by contacting the college on 08 9583 7373.
The Mandurah Senior College Handbook for the upcoming year is available from mid July onwards. It is also made available as a download on this site.
Choose a study Module
A Study Module will help a student choose an appropriate course of study at Mandurah Senior College. Transition Students have the opportunities in Year 10 to explore career interests.
A Study Module contains a grouping of subjects which provide the framework and a reason for selecting a course. A study module directs a student to focus their subject selections to a planned future. Plans for further study, training or employment beyond graduation can be accommodated in the Career Focus section of each Study Module.
Mandurah Senior College will be offering the following Study Modules:
- Applied Industrial Technologies
- Applied Science
- Business, Commerce & Retail
- Communications, Visual & Performing Arts
- Community Services
- Food, Hospitality & Tourism
Instructions on how to Select and Use a Study Module for next year can be found in the Mandurah Senior College Handbook from July.
Return Enrolment Forms
Enrolment forms for next year will be made available in the latter part of the year. These forms take about 15 minutes to complete and require student and parent signatures. A copy of the student's birth certificate is also needed. When the Enrolment Forms are returned the student is added to our mailing list.
Course Selection Forms will be completed during interviews with MSC staff. Student will be notified of their interview time prior to the event. An ENROLMENT CHECK LIST detailing items to be brought to the interview is provided in the enrolment form package. A parent/guardian is required to attend the interview.
